Short Biography

He was awarded the Higher Education Council Academician Development Program in 1999. After graduating from the METU Foreign Language Preparatory School, he went on to complete the Master of Education Technology Program in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the Institute of Educational Sciences, Ankara University in 2002. He then completed his Doctorate Program from the same school in 2005. From 2006 to 2015, he worked as a faculty member at the Department of Computer and Instructional Technologies Education at Sakarya University, Faculty of Education. During these years, he was actively involved in the education committee and quality committee of both the university and the faculty. He served as the vice president of the department for several years. He also worked as a member of the scientific committee at Sakarya University Foundation Schools (kindergarten, primary school, middle school, high school) for one year in 2008. For one academic year (2009-2010), he was assigned as the vice general coordinator of this school. From the establishment stage, he served as the Deputy Director of the Institute of Educational Sciences between 2010 and 2015. In the 2011-2012 academic year, he worked as a post-doc at Texas A&M University, College of Education and Human Development, and AGGIE-STEM Project Center. In November 2015, he started working at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Istanbul Medeniyet University, and served as the Department Chair of CEIT until 2018. He also served as the Director of the Distance Education Application and Research Center between 2016 and 2020 and as the Vice Dean between 2017 and 2021 at the Faculty of Educational Sciences. He worked for one year as the vice student dean at the University. He is involved in the committees and councils related to the university's educational processes. He has completed various projects, articles, presentations, books, and book chapters on instructional design, learning development, e-learning, distance education, technology integration in education, STEM, competencies in higher education, accreditation, effective learning and teaching, and learner motivation and self-regulation.
