The Graduate School of our University organized a Thesis Writing Camp between 14–21 June at the Yalova Language Village. The camp aimed to support graduate students in conducting their thesis writing processes more efficiently, systematically, and in accordance with ethical principles.
Assist. Prof. Adem Yurdunkulu, our faculty member from the School of Education, delivered two hands-on workshops focusing on AI-assisted academic research and thesis writing during the camp.
The first workshop, titled “Smart Thesis Writer: Designing Your Research with AI”, explored how artificial intelligence tools can be used effectively and strategically in identifying research problems, conducting literature reviews, designing research methodologies, and planning thesis projects. Participants had the opportunity to gain practical experience with AI-assisted research planning through interactive examples.
The second workshop, “AI in Thesis Writing: Ethical Use, Productivity, Academic Integrity”, focused on the ethical use of artificial intelligence in academic writing. The session addressed issues of academic integrity, responsible AI use, and productivity, while highlighting best practices for maintaining originality, proper citation, and compliance with university policies on academic ethics.
Through these workshops, graduate students gained both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in AI-assisted academic research and thesis writing. The program made a significant contribution to promoting the ethical and informed integration of emerging AI technologies into academic research and scholarly writing.
