Our faculty member, Dr. Thseen Nazir, met with international students during the seminar series titled “Being an International Student,” held between January and March 2026 at the Çemberlitaş Youth Center. The series was coordinated by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports and the Türkiye Scholarships Istanbul Office. The seminars were attended by international students currently enrolled in TÖMER programs who will soon begin their studies at universities such as Istanbul University, Marmara University, and Ibn Haldun University.
Within the scope of the seminars, the primary challenges faced by international students studying in Türkiye were addressed. In this context, particular focus was placed on language learning, academic and cultural integration, and mental health. Furthermore, various coping strategies were shared to support the students' well-being and facilitate their transition into university life.
Conducted in an interactive format under the leadership of Dr. Thseen Nazir, the seminars encouraged students to share their experiences, perspectives, and expectations. In this regard, the seminar series provided a supportive and participatory learning environment for the attendees.
