Our Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling Hosted a Delegation from the Yeşilay Başakşehir

A delegation from the Başakşehir Branch of Yeşilay visited our University on October 1, 2026. Welcomed by Prof. Nihal Yapıcı, Chair of the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling, the delegation engaged in a productive meeting focused on prospective institutional collaborations.
During the meeting, the importance of collaboration between the university and civil society in combating addiction and promoting awareness of healthy living was emphasized. The parties expressed their views that combining academic expertise with field experience would make significant contributions to both students’ professional development and the mental health of the community.
During the visit, ideas were exchanged regarding various collaboration opportunities that could be implemented between the two institutions. In this context, the possibility of students in the Guidance and Psychological Counseling program participating in Yeşilay’s preventive initiatives through internships and volunteer work was discussed. Views were also shared regarding opportunities for our students to participate in hands-on training and workshops in areas such as addiction prevention, early intervention, and psychosocial support.
On behalf of the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling, we would like to thank the Yeşilay Başakşehir Branch for their visit, and we hope this meeting will lead to meaningful initiatives benefiting our students and the community in the future.
