In his book ‘International Students’ Adjustment Challenges’, Dr. Tehseen Nazir, a faculty member of our Faculty of Educational Sciences, addresses the adaptation problems and solutions faced by students who leave their homeland for their education.
Studying as an international student and living in a multicultural environment brings a variety of learning opportunities and great opportunities. A better education, a more prestigious life, scholarship opportunities, the chance to learn a new language and a different culture are undoubtedly factors that make the idea of studying abroad more attractive. On the other hand, it is not easy to make the decision to leave the country in which one has grown up and become accustomed to the culture, people and lifestyle.
"International Students’ Adjustment Challenges" is based on the findings of Dr. Nazir's research in Turkey and aims to explain the adaptation process to students and to show that adaptation takes time.
International students will find in the book similar experiences that they have encountered during their own journey, while students who aim to study abroad will be able to get an idea of how things work.
