Our Research Assistant Nurevşah Kaya Presented a Paper at the Hagia Sophia Multidisciplinary Graduate Student Congress
Nurevşah Kaya shared her critical perspective on the concept of personal development with the academic community through the paper she presented at the Hagia Sophia Multidisciplinary Graduate Student Congress.

Nurevşah Kaya, a Research Assistant from the School of Education, presented her paper titled "An Examination of University Students' Views on Personal Development" on May 21, 2025, at the Hagia Sophia Multidisciplinary Graduate Student Congress, organized in collaboration with Bezmiâlem Vakıf University and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University.

In her research, Kaya comprehensively addressed university students' approaches to personal development content and the role of this content in students' personal, social, and academic lives.

At the end of her presentation, Nurevşah Kaya drew attention to the capitalist and individualistic nature of personal development content, emphasizing how these contents encourage individuals to focus on constant consumption and individual success. Kaya pointed out that the success-oriented approaches offered by these contents may conflict with societal solidarity and collective values, stressing the importance of approaching personal development content with a critical perspective. She particularly emphasized the need for awareness and a balanced attitude towards content that promises quick success and often offers superficial solutions.

This event once again highlighted the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in education, and it was noted that Nurevşah Kaya's presentation brought a new perspective to research on personal development. The congress offered participants an opportunity to gain in-depth insight into current developments in the field and the personal development processes of students.
