The "Combating Violence in the 21st Century: Preventive and Protective Approaches" workshop, hosted by Ibn Haldun University, concluded successfully on January 7, 2025. The event focused on raising awareness about combating individual, societal, and digital violence in modern societies.
Organized in collaboration with the Başakşehir District Directorate of National Education (Başakşehir MEM) and its Psychosocial Protection, Prevention, and Crisis Intervention Team, the workshop highlighted Ibn Haldun University's leading academic role in addressing this critical issue. It served as a significant platform for developing effective protective and preventive approaches for individuals and communities.
The program began with opening speeches and a presentation on the "Psychopathology of Violence" and continued with discussions at nine thematic tables. Topics included strategies for working with students, families, and educators at primary, middle, and high school levels, as well as tackling violence against women and combating cyber violence.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the findings from the discussions were compiled into a report. This report, prepared in partnership between Ibn Haldun University and Başakşehir MEM, will be shared with the public to inform future actions.
