Our academics Prof. Sefa Bulut and Assist. Prof. Burcu Güngör from the School of Education contributed to the “Healing Books Workshop: Developing Reading Guidance Services in Public Libraries”, hosted by Rami Library. Organized under the coordination of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the workshop brought together academics, experts, and practitioners from various institutions and universities on May 5, 2026.
As part of the workshop, Prof. Sefa Bulut chaired the session titled “Bibliotherapy Themes and Collection Development for Adult Readers”. The session addressed bibliotherapy practices for adult readers, thematic content development processes, and approaches to collection development.
In addition, Assist. Prof. Burcu Güngör was the moderator of the session titled “Early Reading Guidance Model”. The session focused on approaches to fostering a reading culture in early childhood, guidance models, and practical implementation examples.
Throughout the program, participants engaged in academic and practice-oriented discussions on improving reading guidance services in public libraries.
Bringing together experts from different disciplines, the workshop provided an important platform for promoting reading culture, expanding bibliotherapy practices, and strengthening interinstitutional collaboration.
