Our Research Assistant Nagehan Pakdamar Tüzgen presented a paper titled “The Role of Adult Education in Syrian Refugee Communities: Experiences” at an international conference in Portugal

Our university's Research Assistant Nagehan Pakdamar Tüzgen attended the Active Democratic Citizenship and Adult Learning (ADCAL) Research Network Conference organized by the European Society of Research on the Education of Adults (ESREA) from October 24-26, 2024, in Faro, Portugal. The international event titled "Thinking against the grain: Critical Pedagogy, Popular Education, and Revolution" was hosted by the Centre for Research in Adult Education and Community Intervention (CEAD) at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of the University of Algarve, Portugal.

Nagehan Pakdamar Tüzgen shared the findings of her ongoing doctoral dissertation titled "The Role of Adult Education in Syrian Refugee Communities: Experiences" with the conference participants. In her presentation, she discussed the role of adult education in Syrian refugee women's communities living in Turkey and the impact of this education on these communities. This important topic garnered significant interest in terms of sharing academic research and experiences. 

Furthermore, feedback was received from participants from different countries throughout the conference, and potential academic collaborations were discussed.
