School of Education academics participated in the “4th International Montessori Summit”, organized this year under the theme “The Child in the Modern World: Understanding Risks, Unlocking Potential”.
The summit was organized by Palet Montessori Academy MATEPP, operating under the Yeni Türkiye Eğitim Vakfı, and was held on April 25, 2026, at the South Campus of Boğaziçi University.
The summit was attended by the Vice President of Ibn Haldun University, Prof. Özcan Erkan Akgün, the Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Prof. Şener Büyüköztürk, and Assist. Prof. Burcu Güngör. Throughout the program, various sessions were held on current approaches in Montessori education, child development, learning environments, and contemporary educational practices.
During the event, the academics also met with the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) team and exchanged ideas on educational collaborations. As part of the visit, MACTE representatives were hosted at the university’s Süleymaniye campus, where information was shared regarding educational and practical learning spaces. Participants had the opportunity to closely explore Istanbul’s historical and cultural heritage as part of the program.
The International Montessori Summit brought together educators, academics, and practitioners from different countries and contributed to the development of international collaborations in the field of Montessori education.
