Assist. Prof. Mehmet Akın Bulut, Head of the School of Educational, and Assist. Prof. Adem Yurdunkulu from our School of Education were invited to participate in the “Teacher Education Digital Ecosystem Project Workshop”, held in Ankara from January 15-17, 2025, aimed at improving and developing the Teacher Information Network.

Held in Ankara, the workshop was attended by YEĞİTEK General Director Mustafa Canlı, President of the National Education Academy Cevdet Vural, department heads, and UNICEF Türkiye representatives. Participants included representatives from universities, public institutions, private sector organizations, and NGOs, as well as ministry personnel, teachers, and administrators.

During the workshop, YEĞİTEK General Director Mustafa Canlı emphasized the importance of the educational technology ecosystem and YEĞİTEK’s role in this field. He shared new insights into the Teacher Education Digital Ecosystem Project and highlighted the updates in Presidential Decree No. 1, granting YEĞİTEK the authority to conduct studies in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, monitor the educational technology sector, and guide the process with the participation of all stakeholders.

National Education Academy President Cevdet Vural discussed the organizational and practical changes brought by the Teaching Profession Law, the significance of adapting teaching methods and techniques to digital transformation, and the critical role of the project in this process.

The workshop addressed several key topics, including the role of the ÖBA platform in the personal and professional development of teachers and teacher candidates, strategies for increasing the platform's visibility and outreach, encouraging effective use across all target groups—including private schools—and enhancing the technical infrastructure of the platform.

At the end of the three-day workshop, working groups compiled opinions and suggestions based on the discussion topics, which were then consolidated into a final report.
